I currently have 6 pairs of Running shoes:
3 pairs of Asics Gel Nimbus (in a variety of colours)
1 Pair of New Balance RC1600, my ‘racing shoes’
1 pair of Skechers GOtrail, my off-road shoes
1 Pair of clunky old pumas, that feel very heavy compared to my lighter, more modern shoes.
I believe you probably can’t have too many pairs of running shoes, as long as you use them all, and let the old ones go when they really have seen better days.
I certainly appreciated every pair a couple of months ago, when it rained every day for over a week. I can’t handle putting wet shoes on, so by the end of the week, I had 4 pairs of soggy wet shoes lined up in the laundry, and was forced to run indoors on the treadmill to keep my remaining shoes dry.
I’m always on the lookout for new shoes, and when I find ones I like, I stick to them! (Hence the 3 pairs of the gel nimbus) I’m currently trying to track down a multicolour pair.
As long as all my running shoes are in regular use… the more the merrier!
