3 weeks. 7 cities. 2 marathons. 1 pair of shoes.
… Ok 2 pairs of running shoes. That is, I Departed with 2 pairs of running shoes. The number of pairs of running shoes that I return with is yet to be determined.
6 flights, 2 buses, a train ride and a road trip. I’m travelling around USA and Canada, and running marathons while I am here.
Today I arrived in New York. I’ll be here for a few days, then head on to Boston, where I will run the 118th Boston Marathon. Then it’s on to Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto, before again flying across the continent, and landing in Vancouver.
I’ll jump on the greyhound, and head up to Whistler. Here I’ll spend a week or so snowboarding (to improve my quad strength) and running trails in preparation for the North Face 100km next month.
After that, it’s back to Vancouver for a few training runs around Stanley park sea wall, before The Vancouver Marathon becomes my 4th for 2014. I’ll back it up the next day with a hike up Grouse Mountain on tired legs, which will again be an interesting training exercise for TNF100.
After that, it’s onto LA, where I will probably only get the chance to dream about running around Runyon Canyon park, before heading home. PHEW!
I think I’m going to need a holiday to get over this holiday.
Epic! And jealous. 🙂 That hike the day after a marathon sounds pretty brave. 🙂
And all good holidays require a holiday when you get home, right?
That’s right, they do!
